With experience in the NBA and Europe, the center had a fantastic physical recovery for Rubro-Negro last season

Vitor Faverani has renewed his contract with FlaBasquete! While he was in the final stages of transitioning to return to the court during the 21/22 season, the star player now looks back on his successful physical recovery, his impressive performances against the Red-Black Nation, and his second World Cup win with the Sacred Mantle.

"My mind has never been on not staying. Flamengo is the club that brought me back to the court, and I'll only leave when they no longer want me. I hope to win all the titles this season with Manto and be able to contribute more than I did last year," said Faverani.

The Porto Alegre native had his first experience with a team from his home country at Flamengo. Faverani left Brazil early and shone in Spain, where he played for Valencia, Murcia, Unicaja Malaga, and Barcelona. With his success in Europe, the center soared even higher: he played for the Boston Celtics, a traditional NBA franchise.

"I often say that Faverani is Brazil's passport to Paris. He's the pivot that Brazilian basketball was missing. Even though he wasn't in peak form, he was instrumental in winning the Club World Cup in Egypt. He's already shone for the Boston Celtics and at the highest level of Spanish basketball. He spent almost three years out of action due to a serious injury and trusted Flamengo to help him regain his best form. Last season, he played without a single setback. He recovered 100%, clinically and organically. He finished the year with great performances. Now, with the return of his conditioned reflexes, he will be the protagonist of a journey in which FlaBasquete promises to relive his best moments," said Guilherme Kroll, Flamengo's vice president of Olympic Sports.

Vitor Faverani will be joined by Jose Vildoza, Rafael Rachel, Gui Deodato, Martin "Loku" Cuello, Rafael Mineiro, Nicolas "Penka" Aguirre, Olivinha, and Gabriel "Jaú," also confirmed for the next season of Pride of the Nation. Coach Gustavo De Conti also renewed with FlaBasquete and will continue to lead the team.
