Felipe Motta is another FlaBasquete signing confirmed for the season that begins next month. The athlete was born in Erice, Italy, but also holds Brazilian nationality. The Flamengo player made 23 appearances last season for Fortaleza.

Felipe began his career in Italy, where he lived until he was 16. He won several Italian youth titles and played for the Brazilian national team at the U-14, U-15, and U-16 levels, winning two South American titles and two Best Player in South America awards.

At 16, the athlete attended the NBA Global Academy in Australia, where he played alongside several NBA prospects for two years. He then spent six months playing for Brindisi, a team in Italy's Serie A, and then attended the University of Denver in the United States. In Brazil, he played for Fortaleza Basquete Cearense for two seasons.

"I'm very happy to be part of this team, this project, this family. I believe this team is very strong and for me it will be a great opportunity to learn, with so many high-level players and a very strong coaching staff. I think I will continue to develop as a player and I'm very excited to compete," said the new number 13.

"Felipe has Flamengo DNA. He was raised breathing basketball. His grandfather, Paulo César Motta, was a standout player for FlaBasquete in the 70s. He's one of the greatest prospects in Brazilian basketball. Working within the structure Flamengo offers, he has everything he needs to reach the highest level of his career," added Guilherme Kroll, the club's vice president of Olympic Sports.
