The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) announced on Monday (January 24.01) the groups, dates, and venues for the second phase of the Liga de las Américas, considered the continent's most important tournament. Flamengo is in Group E, which also includes Halcones Rojos (MEX), Peñarol (ARG), and Capitanes de Arecibo (PUR). The matches will take place between February 3rd and 5th in Veracruz, Mexico. Flamengo's debut will be on the 3rd against the home team. The following day, they face Peñarol and conclude their participation on the 5th against the team from Puerto Rico.

In Group E, which will be played from February 11 to 13 in Corrientes, Argentina, are Regatas de Corrientes (ARG), Halcones de Xalapa (MEX), Quimsa (ARG), and Brasília. Two teams from each group will qualify for the finals in March.
