FlaBasquete is in Fortaleza, Ceará, for the Rio-Nordeste Basketball Super Four, but its star signing of the season, point guard Ricardo Fischer, has yet to play. Coming off a serious injury that has kept him off the court for the past six months (the young athlete underwent surgery on the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee), Fischer is expected to be cleared for regular training after the entire group returns to Rio de Janeiro next Thursday.

 

"Today I complete six months of recovery. It was a period of mixed feelings: sadness, pain, joy, confidence, patience, hope, faith, and anxiety. I think it was a time for me to redefine myself and become better. So many people were part of this process that I don't even know how to thank them," declares the #5 player of the Mais Querido, emotionally. When asked about his expectations for his return to the courts, Fischer is spot on.

 

"So much joy and excitement! I know my return to doing what I love most is very close. The entire Flamengo coaching staff is doing a great job to ensure I return in the best possible condition," concludes the point guard.

 

The Pride of the Nation continues the disputes in Fortaleza on Monday afternoon (26) against Vitória, at 17 pm, at the Arena of the Olympic Training Center.
