Team beats Uberlândia 70-63 and opens 2-0 lead in the quarterfinal series

Flamengo is one win away from the NBB semifinals. On Tuesday afternoon (01.05), the team defeated Uberlândia, 70-63, at Tijuca Tênis Clube, and opened up a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five series of the competition's quarterfinals. The Rubro-negro returns to the court on Friday (04.05), at 19 pm, at the same venue, potentially securing a spot in the next phase. In the first game, played in Uberlândia, Flamengo won 110-108, after two overtimes.

If necessary, the fourth game will be played on May 08.05th in Uberlândia, and the fifth on May 11.05th in Rio. Having finished the qualifying round in the top four, Flamengo gained home-court advantage in the quarterfinals.

"It was a great game, we managed to open up a good lead, but we haven't won anything yet and we have to stay focused for the third game. Today was special because the fans made the difference and gave the team a lot of energy, which ended up being reflected in the game. I'm happy to have been able to help," said American David Jackson, the game's top scorer with 24 points.

After finishing the first quarter behind (16 x 18), Flamengo dominated the second half, winning 36 x 32. Pushed by the more than two thousand people (2.030) that filled Tijuca, the team opened 15 points after halftime (49 x 34) and closed the third quarter at 56 x 45.
