Fla brings forward the match and players ask for support from the fans
The clash against São José will be on Sunday, at 11 am, at Arena HSBC, in Barra da Tijuca

Flamengo fans no longer have an excuse not to watch the two-time Brazilian champions play the derby against São José, the current São Paulo champions, in the fifth round of the second round of the Novo Basquete Brasil season. The match, which had been postponed three weeks ago to March 8th due to a charity concert scheduled for the HSBC Arena, has been moved up by Flamengo's board to Sunday, the 7th, at 11 a.m.
- The round was all scheduled for Friday (5/3), but as there was a show scheduled for the 6th at the Arena, which would make it impossible to set up the stage in time, we postponed our match to Monday, the 8th, at 20 pm. But as the show was canceled and Flamengo is not playing in the State Football Championship, we decided to bring the game forward to Sunday morning in order to attract the red-black fans - explained the team supervisor, André Guimarães.
The decision, made due to the great crowd that supported the red-black team in its 95-72 victory over Londrina last Sunday, the Rio team's biggest victory of the season so far, pleased the players and coaching staff.
"It was a wise decision. Fans are already accustomed to games played on Sundays. Besides Monday being a day we rarely play, the distance, the time, and the traffic would certainly drive fans away," said coach Paulo Chupeta.
The team captain and one of the players who has most requested the presence of the red-black fans in the gyms agrees with the red-black commander and also celebrated the change in the date of the classic.
"I think this change was very good for us, because Flamengo fans have gotten used to playing matches on Sundays. They understand that this is the time to support us and turned out in large numbers for the games against Joinville and Londrina last weekend. I hope the support will be even greater in the upcoming games, because our fans are the sixth player on the court," said Marcelinho.
