The red-and-black basketball team showed that fans can be confident in a very successful season. Against Tijuca, in a match valid for the State Basketball Championship, this Monday (26.09), in Gávea, Flamengo ran roughshod and won 105 to 54, with a great performance by Marcelinho, the top scorer of the match, with 21 points.

Flamengo started the match very well positioned and finished the first quarter with a 12-point lead over their opponent: 25 x 13. With Teichmann's dunks and the talent of Marcelinho and Kammerichs, the Rubro-negro opened up an even bigger gap on the scoreboard at the end of the second quarter: 55 to 30.

Undeterred by Tijuca's excellent play, Flamengo continued to attack until the final whistle, securing a commanding victory: 105-54.

The team's coach, Gonzalo Garcia, was very pleased with the victory, but hopes that the same effort will be repeated in the next match.

"The team played well, with great concentration and always respecting the opponent. We have to try to play the same way or better in tomorrow's game," he said.

The team returns to the court against Iguaçú, this Tuesday (27.09), at 19 pm, at the Hélio Maurício Gymnasium, in Gávea.
