Decisive title battles take place in Gávea, in December

Last Sunday (03.11), in São Paulo, Flamengo was defeated by São José, 68 to 61, in the game that marked the end of the classification phase of the Basketball Development League (LDB). Despite the undesirable result, the Mais Querido advanced to the playoffs with first place overall.
"This game against São José served as a lesson for us: we can't go on the court without focusing on the game. We've already learned what we should do, we're fixing the little details, and now it's full concentration, aiming for the playoffs. Keep your head up and keep moving forward in these decisive games," said winger Diego Marques, the red-and-black's top scorer in the match against the São Paulo team, with 28 points.
From December 26th to 30th, at the Gávea headquarters, the eight qualified teams will compete in the final stage of the competition. The format for the decisive stage is simple. The clubs will be divided into two groups and will play each other within their brackets in a single round. The top two teams from each side will advance to the semifinals, which, like the final, will be played in a single match.
Group B includes Flamengo, Pinheiros, São José, and Bauru. Group C includes Minas Tênis Clube, Basquete Cearense, Brasília, and Ginástico. The schedule for the games will be released in the coming days by the Technical Department of the National Basketball League (LNB).

Next Saturday (November 09.11th), at 10 am, at the HSBC Arena, Flamengo will take the court to begin defending its Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB) title. It will be the champion's return to the stage where it was crowned and secured the trophy for the fifth edition of the competition last June. And the first round already pits the Mais Querido against Brasília, in a repeat of the clash that has already taken place in two NBB finals.
