On the night of last Wednesday (18.12), Flamengo's under-14 basketball team played, against Tijuca Tênis Clube, the first match of the finals of the men's State Championship in the category. Rubro-Negro lost 49 to 42, on the opponent's court.

"We won the whole game, but with six minutes left, we were 10 points ahead on the scoreboard and Tijuca hit three three-pointers in a row. They ended up coming back and beating us. The next game will be at home and we'll go out on the court to turn this around," said the boys' coach, Igor Meletti.

The second game of the finals is scheduled for next Friday, the 20th, at 17 pm, at the Gávea headquarters.
