Flamengo has qualified for the final hexagonal of the South American Club League. With Quimsa (ARG)'s 84-70 victory over Malvin (URU) on Saturday night, the red-and-black team secured a spot in the competition's final, which will take place at the end of November. With two wins each, Flamengo and Quimsa can no longer be overtaken by their opponents. The top two teams in each group secure their spot. This Sunday, at 23 pm (Brasília time), the two teams face off to decide who will top the group.

"We've taken a weight off our shoulders by securing this qualification and that has a psychological importance, but we'll play focused as in the other matches," said coach Paulo Chupeta.

Flamengo defeated Quimsa in the 2009 South American League final in a dramatic match, featuring a showpiece from point guard Marcelçinho. In the 2009/2010 season, the Argentine team defeated the Rio de Janeiro team in the first round, and the Red-Black team was eliminated from the competition.
