On Thursday night (13.12/19), Flamengo's under-80 basketball team lost 68-XNUMX to Macaé at their opponent's home ground in the second game of the state finals. With the result, Macaé took the trophy. Flamengo's coach, Paulo Chupeta, praised the Flamengo boys, despite the negative result.
"We lost right at the end. I lost a lot of players to fouls, the refereeing was poor, and with the team being so mixed up, we ended up losing our early rhythm. The boys were warriors, they represented Flamengo very well, they never gave up and they fought hard," he said.
The coach also recalled that the team has players who are part of the under-22 squad, and make up the squad that plays in the Basketball Development League (LDB).
"It's a team of winners, in fact, four or five of them will be part of the team that will compete in the LDB finals in two weeks," praised Chupeta.
The LDB finals take place from December 26th to 30th.
