Flamengo makes its debut this Monday (19.12/21) in the semifinal hexagonal of the Olympic Development League (LDO) – the Brazilian Under-19 Basketball Championship –, from December 23 to 14, in São Sebastião do Paraíso (MG). The red-and-black team faces Franca, at 26 pm, eyeing one of the four spots in the final. The final quadrangular will be played between December 29 and XNUMX, at the Tijuca Tennis Club gymnasium, in Rio de Janeiro.
Led by Paulo Chupeta, Flamengo finished the qualifying phase as the undefeated leader of Group A, with seven wins in seven matches. Furthermore, it boasts two MVPs (best players) from the first phase: point guard Gegê and forward Fred Duarte. Gegê also led in assists, averaging 10,8 per game, and Fred was the top scorer (averaging 22,4 points per game) and the top rebounder (14,8).
After Franca, Flamengo faces Paulistano on December 20.12th at 18pm; Bauru on December 21.12st at 14pm; Minas on December 22.12nd at 18pm; and Brasília on December 23.12rd at 9am.
