Fla plays in Quito in the League of the Americas
Rubro-Negro is in Group D of the Latin American competition and debuts on February 14th
By Communication - Official Club Website - inIn the seventh edition of the League of the Americas, Flamengo will also face the high-altitude city of Quito. The red-and-black team is in Group D of the competition, with matches taking place from February 14th to 16th in the Ecuadorian capital. "Mais Querido" will face Mavort from Ecuador, Capitanes de Arecibo from Puerto Rico, and another representative from Chile, yet to be determined.
Coach José Neto believes that the competition will be tough, as, due to its importance, it demands a lot of preparation from the participating clubs.
"The League of the Americas is a highly valued competition. In other words, all participating teams invest in this competition, as the championship now gives the champion a ticket to play in the Intercontinental Cup, which is the Club World Cup," he said.
Neto also analyzed Fla's direct competitors, who share group D with the red-black team.
"We'll play in Ecuador against the Chilean champions, the local team, Mavort, who have invested heavily in the competition in every edition, as well as the very strong Capitanes de Arecibo. Flamengo aims to secure one of the two spots for the next stage, and we'll continue in the competition aiming to always be one of the best," concluded the coach.
