Flamengo secured qualification for the State Youth Basketball Championship final by beating Fluminense this Wednesday (16.11), 73 to 67. With a not so good start, the red-black boys finished the first quarter four points behind (23 x 19). However, a comeback in the second half set the tone for the match and the victory for Fla. The top scorer of the match was the red-black Daniel Lorio with 14 points.
The under-15 team, however, let the state title slip away, also against Fluminense. The best-of-three final ended with Fluminense winning. The score of the decisive match was 67-61.
Flamengo's under-13 team also performed poorly against Fluminense, losing the second game of the State Championship finals 70-65. However, as Flamengo won the first match, the final will still be played. The match will take place on Saturday (19/11), at 4 pm, in Gávea.
