Fla goes to São Paulo to maintain leadership of the LDB

Mais Querido needs two wins in four games to advance to the playoffs in first place.

The fifth and final stage of the qualifying phase of the Basketball Development League (LDB) will begin next Thursday (October 31.10) in São Paulo. Flamengo's opponents will be Tijuca, São José, Paulistano, and Pinheiros. Flamengo's goal is to finish the qualifying phase in first place, a position it currently holds, as the first-place team will have the advantage of playing the final at home.

To achieve this, Flamengo needs to win just two of its four games in São Paulo. With two wins, Flamengo will no longer be able to be overtaken by Basquete Cearense, currently in second place, which has 63 points to Mais Querido's 66.

"We expect some very tough games, as the São Paulo teams will be full, as they haven't been in other stages due to their State Championship. We'll always go out there to win every match, but we'll also play with the rules in mind. In other words, if we win twice, it will be satisfactory in terms of maintaining our lead," explained Paulo Chupeta, the red-and-black coach.

The team will depart at 11 a.m. this Tuesday (October 28.10). Gegê will be missing from the group, as he is still recovering from a blow to his left knee. Diego Marques, Douglas and Cristiano Felício will only travel to join the squad after the last game of the Adult State finals, which will be played on October 30 or 31.
