Flamengo said goodbye to the Interleague Tournament with a 68-67 victory over Brasília on Sunday night (10.04) in Mendoza, Argentina. The competition brings together the four best teams from the NBB qualifying phase (Franca, Pinheiros, Brasília and Flamengo) and the top four from the Argentine League (Obras Sanitárias, Peñarol, Libertad Sunchales and Atenas de Cordoba), divided into two groups.
Flamengo was defeated by Obras Sanitárias and Peñarol, respectively, in their first two matches, and entered the court this Sunday with no chance of qualifying, just like their opponent. American David Teague led the way, alongside Brasília's Arthur, with 19 points each. Teichmann also had a double-double (10 points and 19 rebounds).
The game was evenly matched. Flamengo finished the first quarter ahead 19-15, but went into halftime trailing by one point 31-32. In the third quarter, the Red-Black team once again came out on top 54-48. In the final quarter, Brasília took the lead in the final seconds, but Flamengo eventually won 68-67.
The Interleague Tournament served as preparation for the NBB playoffs. Flamengo, finishing fourth in the qualifying round, automatically secured a spot in the quarterfinals, starting on the 24th. Their opponent will be known after the Round of 5, between the teams ranked 12th to XNUMXth.
Flamengo started with Helium (11), Wagner (4), Duda (13), Teichmann (10) and Teague (19). Entered: Guto (6), Jefferson (1) and Átila (4).
