After debuting in the Basketball Development League (LDB) with an overtime victory, Flamengo won again in the competition. This time, the opponent was Brasília, and the match was much more relaxed, 63-35. The game took place at Arena Paraíso in São Sebastião do Paraíso, Minas Gerais, with Douglas leading the scorer with 14 points.

"We achieved our goal, which was to come away with our second win. We have a renewed team and we have to give the kids confidence. We played a very good first quarter, but with little inspiration on offense. I changed the team a bit for the second quarter, and the performance improved. The lead increased, and little by little we established our rhythm of play," said coach Paulo Chupeta.

The match marked the debut of basketball's number 2 uniform. Flamengo returns to the court tomorrow against Sport Recife at 16 p.m.
