Fla wins and guarantees a place in the LDB semifinals

Flamengo secured qualification for the semifinal stage of the LDB (Basketball Development League), the Brazilian Under-22 Championship, with one round to spare. On Friday afternoon (28.12/77), the team defeated Limeira, 49-29.12, at the Asceb Gymnasium, in Brasília. This Saturday (20/9), the Rubro-negro returns to the court against Pinheiros, at 11 pm, in the match that will determine the first place in the group. The semifinals will take place from February XNUMXth to XNUMXth.
Point guard Gegê was Flamengo's standout performer, posting a double-double (15 points and 12 assists). Center Alexandre Paranhos led all scorers with 19 points. Douglas added 14 points.
Led by Gegê, who had seven assists in the first half, Flamengo took a 44-18 lead in the first quarter. Then, they simply held on to their lead until victory.
"We have the same goal as last year: to take it one game at a time. We qualified today, but we already have Pinheiros, a young and talented team, ahead of us tomorrow. First place in the group is important to give us peace of mind for the rest of the competition," said Alexandre.
