Flamengo's youth basketball teams won all their matches this Saturday (13.08/13) in Gávea. The youth team (under-65) and children's teams defeated Central by 43 to 67 and 56 to 77, respectively. The children's team beat Iguaçu by 55 to XNUMX.
In the first game of the day, Flamengo's under-13 basketball team took an early lead. Throughout the match, the team lost focus, but ultimately managed to hold on to their advantage, finishing with a considerable 22-point lead. Bernardo Campos was the Flamengo's top scorer with 18 points.
The team's coach, Nelson, was pleased with the victory over the opponent, as the team was short-handed.
"It was a tough game. We played without two starters, but the group remained strong and managed to win another one," he said.
In a tougher game, the Flamengo youth team (under-15) built a solid lead in points in the first quarter: 21 to 6. Throughout the game, the opponent tried to close the gap and pressed the defense. In the final game of the day, the under-17s faced Iguaçu. And, just like in the other two age groups, they maintained their dominance from the start. Final score: 77-53, with Bruno Lopes also scoring 18 points.

Also this Saturday, Flamengo selected a team of "aspirants" to participate in the Gamboa Basketball Cup, held at the Gamboa Olympic Village. The participating teams were Vasco, Gamboa Olympic Village, Cruzeiro Olympic Village, and Flamengo.
The red-and-black team won the championship undefeated. Flamengo vs. Vila Kennedy: 43 to 5. Flamengo vs. Vila Gamboa: 19 to 16. Flamengo vs. Vasco: 25 to 15.
