Flamengo's under-14 basketball team defeated Fluminense 59-46 this Wednesday (May 16.05) in Gávea, in the State Championship. The top scorer of the match was the red-black Francesco Martini, with 12 points. With this result, the team remains undefeated in the competition, with three wins in three games played. Flamengo returns to the court this Sunday (May 20.05), against Clube Central, in Charitas, at 10 am.
The youth team wasn't as fortunate, suffering its first loss of the championship. The team let the victory slip away to Fluminense by just two points: 69 to 67. The standout for the red-and-black team was Douglas Soares, with 12 points.
Next Saturday (26.05), the youth (under-13), children's (under-15) and children's (under-17) teams face Jequiá, also in the State Championship, away from home, at 14 pm, 15:30 pm and 17 pm respectively.
