On Monday night (28.10), Flamengo beat Macaé, at the opponent's home, by 98 to 89, in the first game of the State Basketball finals. The result left the Mais Querido just one victory away from winning the competition for the ninth consecutive time, since, according to the rules, the team that wins two games takes the trophy.
"It was evenly matched, especially since it was the fourth time we've faced each other in the competition, and they're likely to study us and understand how we play. The important thing is that we were able to handle the pressure of a packed gym," said point guard Gegê, who played with great determination, as he feels pain in his left knee from the blow he received in the qualifying round. "We're excited about the club winning the title again in a row. We players want to make history at Flamengo, and a trophy helps you achieve that," he concluded.
The second match will be played on the evening of next Wednesday (30.10/19), at 30:31.10 pm, at Tijuca Tênis Clube, hosted by Rubro-Negro. If they win the duel, the club will lift the trophy in front of their fans, who promise to fill the gymnasium. If Macaé wins, a third and decisive match will be held on Thursday (20/XNUMX), at XNUMX pm, again at Tijuca's gymnasium.
Tickets for the second leg of the finals
Tickets will be sold only at the Tijuca Tênis Clube and will cost R$30 full price and R$15 half price. Tickets will go on sale three hours before kickoff. Students, fans wearing the Sacred Mantle, and members of the Nação Rubro-Negra are entitled to half-price tickets.
