Fla beats Tijuca in training match

Flamengo defeated Tijuca 98-68 in a training match held this Thursday (20.10), at the Hélio Maurício Gymnasium, in Gávea. The match was played in five quarters and served as preparation for Fla's two main objectives this year, the South American League and the NBB.
The red-and-black team opened the scoring with Caio Torres, and the match began very close. With both teams alternating the lead, the first quarter ended 19-17 for the red-and-black team. In the second quarter, Flamengo made some great plays and managed to open an eight-point lead: 39-31. In the third quarter, Tijuca tried to press, but Flamengo's defense held firm, maintaining a partial lead: 61-53. David Jackson's great plays are worth highlighting.
After halftime, Flamengo came out swinging and extended their lead even further (84-62). With some excellent plays, Leandrinho was the standout with six points. In the final quarter, Flamengo was all hands on deck. Tijuca had no chance against Flamengo's attack, which finished 98-68. Caio Torres was the game's top scorer with 21 points.
