The match between Flamengo and Uberlândia, held on Thursday night (January 16.01th) at the Sabiazinho Gymnasium, pitted the two finalists of the fifth edition of the Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB) against each other. Just like in that decisive clash, the Mais Querido emerged victorious. The 101-95 triumph, at the Minas Gerais home, kept the red-and-black team in the lead of NBB 6 after 15 games played. Argentine Laprovittola was the top scorer of the match, with 29 points.

Flamengo point guard Gegê, who scored seven points, felt the match was even for the most part. "The game was very even and close until the final quarter. In the final part of the match, we managed to set our pace, got some things right defensively, and were able to continue well on offense. Everyone knew exactly what to do. We opened up a lead and held on until the end," he explained.

Laprovittola also stood out with ten assists. Other standouts included Olivinha and Meyinsse. The Brazilian recorded a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds. The American hit every shot he attempted and left the court with 25 points. The game also marked the debut of power forward Tony Washam, who scored four points for the Mais Querido.

In the next round, Flamengo will face Franca. The game will be held in São Paulo, at the Pedrocão Gymnasium, and will start at 19 pm next Saturday (18.01).
