Flamengo fans are ecstatic about the club's strong performance this season in the NBB. And on Monday night, the giants from Gávea showed they're ready to make history in Brazilian basketball history. With a stunning performance, Flamengo secured their 17th consecutive victory in the competition, despite playing away from home, and finished the first half with a 100% record. This time, the team's victim was the strong Uberlândia team, which lost 87-78.

With Marquinhos, Flamengo's top scorer with 23 points, and Olivinha and Benite in high spirits, Flamengo ignored the pressure from the opposing fans and started the derby attacking Uberlândia. Tight marking at the edge of the paint and speed on the counterattack were Flamengo's biggest assets, allowing them to open up an early lead. The team's offensive prowess, a hallmark of this season, continued to thrive, and when the clock hit zero for the first time, it was 18-23 to Flamengo.

"Their fans packed the gym, but we managed to withstand the pressure and put on a good game," said Olivinha.

The second quarter and the beginning of the third were the most worrying moments of the game for the red-and-blacks. As the final quarter began, coach Neto urged his team to defend more and remain calm to maintain their victory. With impressive quality, Flamengo kept the game under control and managed to win the match, achieving their 17th consecutive victory and finishing the first half of the season undefeated.

"There's still a lot to happen, the team plays with intensity, and that's hard to maintain. We played a great game, we could have been a little more defensive, but we won. They're two great teams, and that's why we saw a great basketball game," celebrated coach Neto.

Flamengo players wore a black stripe on their shirts in solidarity with the victims of the fire at a nightclub in Santa Maria (RS) and to coach Ary Vidal, who passed away this Monday.

In the next round, Rubro-Negro will face Vila Velha at the Tijuca Tennis Club gymnasium. The match will take place this Thursday at 21:30 p.m.
