FlaBasquete crushes Brasília and wins the second away game in the NBB

Mission accomplished in Brasília. With a spectacular performance by the legendary Flamengo basketball duo, Olivinha and Marquinhos, Flamengo defeated Universo Brasília Basquete 94-69, securing their second victory in two games in the 2018-19 NBB and also breaking the tie against their traditional rival. Flamengo now has 10 wins, compared to theirs, with nine.

The stars of the match were Olivinha and Marquinhos. The two combined for 37 points and 14 rebounds. While they didn't quite reach a double-double, they came close. With 11 points, Rafael Mineiro was the other player to break the 10-point barrier. With the exception of Camargo, who played only 38 seconds, the entire team scored tonight.
The massive Nilson Nelson gymnasium welcomed a good crowd to watch the game. What they saw was a Flamengo team looking to impose its rhythm and strength. With Rafael Mineiro replacing Varejão, Gustavo De Conti fielded a team that sought not only the paint but also the entire perimeter. Proof of this, Mineiro scored from both inside and outside, extending Flamengo's lead and leaving Brasília with few defensive options. Accustomed to playing against teams with a fixed pivot, they saw a Flamengo team constantly moving and attacking in every way. In the end, 27-19, the game plan was already set.
The second quarter was more even, and that's precisely when Olivinha emerged. With eight points, the number 16 was the tipping point for Flamengo. He hit two of his three-point attempts and was the top scorer of the half. Gustavinho then sent Varejão's team on the court for longer periods, once again changing the team's play and utilizing the strength of the squad's variations. The eight-point deficit at the end of the first quarter grew to 14 when the teams went into the locker room with a 49-35 lead.
The second half was the most evenly balanced. In front of their home crowd, Brasília didn't want to take it easy and pushed forward, especially with Graterol, who scored 11 of the team's 22 points. Flamengo struggled defensively but didn't let their opponents get close. Marquinhos and Olivinha, with two three-pointers, made a big splash and took the lead 76-57, their largest margin to date.
Leading by almost 20 points, Flamengo didn't need much of a final-quarter surge to secure the victory. Brasília itself seemed to be giving up, with its lowest score of the match—just 12 points. Gustavo De Conti noticed the change in the situation and used the bench more. The team's efficiency didn't wane. Crescenzi made two three-pointers and finished with seven points, playing just six minutes. This was crucial and necessary for the team to further open up the lead, ultimately leading 94-69, in front of a crowd that was calling for a 100, but left the gym completely happy.
