The Pride of the Nation took to the court this Saturday (21.03) to face one of its biggest rivals in the New Basketball Brazil (NBB), Brasília. Playing away, José Neto's team had a great performance and, in great form, beat the home team 106 to 95, in the 27th round of the national championship.

Now, Flamengo returns to Rio de Janeiro where it plays its last four games in the first phase of the NBB. Next Wednesday (25.03), Rubro-Negro receives Mogi das Cruzes at Tijuca Tênis Clube to get closer and closer to qualifying for the playoffs.

Hungry for victory, FlaBasquete started the match well. With Argentine winger Herrmann opening the scoring with a beautiful three-point shot, FlaBasquete knew how to impose its game and move the ball. With Benite and Laprovittola playing well, the visiting team ended the first half with a 29-22 lead.

The second quarter arrived, and the intense pace of the Flamengo team remained unchanged. Felício, who had come on late in the first period, took control of the paint and once again showed his mettle. Another player who came on well was the playmaker Gegê, highlighting the strength of Flamengo's squad. No matter how hard Brasília tried to recover, the home team couldn't open up a gap on the scoreboard. Despite leading by three points, Flamengo ended the first half ahead 51-47.

Returning to the starting five, it was Marquinhos' turn to shine in the third quarter. The forward began to dominate the paint and grab all the defensive rebounds. Positioning himself well, FlaBasquete's number 11 helped the visiting team pull away even further, closing the third quarter 32-24 for the Red-Blacks.

With strong introductions from Marcelinho and Olivinha, Flamengo only confirmed the strong performance they were having. In a tightly contested quarter, José Neto's men managed the result they had achieved throughout the previous periods well, and despite falling behind by one point in the final quarter, the Pride of the Nation secured their eighth consecutive NBB victory.
