On Tuesday night (29), Flamengo entered the court to face Cerrado Basquete. Maracanãzinho was the scene of another red-black triumph: making the most of their favoritism, the Pride of the Nation beat their opponents 91 to 80. With this, Rubro-Negro maintains second place in the NBB and continues with 100% success at home.

The game

The first quarter was tight, with plenty of intensity from both sides. The Mais Querido fell behind thanks to a three-pointer from their opponent. The half unfolded with Cerrado in the lead. A beautiful dunk by Gabriel Jaú lifted the nation, and chants echoed, calling for a red-and-black comeback.

The second half of the game began with a red-and-black basket—and it was a perfect one. From the dead zone, Vildoza recovered three points for the red-and-blacks. Within two minutes, the Cerrado's lead was reduced to just one point. FlaBasquete took the lead with a basket from Hettsheimeir, who scored two points, making the score 23-22. From then on, the Mais Querido surged. Hett excelled in three-point shooting: he scored ten points in the period, six of which were long-range baskets. Deodato also had a strong performance, with eight points, and the Red-and-Blacks went into halftime with a ten-point lead: 44-34.

After halftime, FlaBasquete maintained its intensity. The period was high-scoring: with 54 points, they were fourth in the score in the match. Flamengo played well and maintained their significant lead. Mineiro was the main player for Flamengo in the third quarter: with 13 points, he was the top scorer of the half. Aguirre was the main partner in the playmaking, with five assists.

In the final period, Cerrado reduced the lead to just two points, but Flamengo held on. Rafael Mineiro capitalized on a beautiful pass from Penka to nail a beautiful alley-oop with six minutes remaining. Flamengo, once again, demonstrated its importance and turned up the volume at the crucial moment of the game. To the roar of the stands, Flamengo pulled away again on the scoreboard, starting with a three-pointer from Gui Deodato. In the final two minutes, Flamengo scored six more points to close the score at 91-80.
