FlaBasquete knows its opponents in the South American League

Pride of the Nation will compete in the first phase in Chocó, Colombia

FlaBasquete's first challenge of the season has already been decided. Chasing its second South American League title, the Pride of the Nation will land in Chocó, Colombia, to face its Group A opponents. Cimarrones de Chocó (Colombia), San Martín de Corrientes (Argentina), and Hebraica Macabi (Uruguay) will face the Mais Querido in the competition.

The matches will take place between October 3rd and 5th, and will be held for a spot in the second round. The first and second-place teams from Groups A, B, and C will qualify, along with the best third-place team from those teams. In Group D, only one team will advance to the semifinals.

In Group B of the competition, there will be also Brazilian team Pinheiros, in addition to Quilmes Mar del Plata (Argentina), Osorno Basquetbol (Chile) and Aguada (Uruguay). In Group C, Vitória, from Bahia, will face Estudiantes de Concórdia (Argentina), Malvín (Uruguay) and Guaros de Lara (Venezuela). Rounding out the tournament, in Group D we have the presence of the Bolivian champion (to be defined), Regatas Lima (Peru), Olimpia (Paraguay) and HR Portoviejo (Ecuador).

The winner of the South American League will secure a spot in the 2018 League of the Americas, with the possibility of competing in the World Cup if they win the title.
