On the evening of last Tuesday (20), the event that awards the best athletes, coaches and performances of the NBB CAIXA 2016/17 was held in São Paulo. At the gala, the Mais Querido was honored with two individual awards: biggest rebounder and best attack of the competition. 

The red-and-black team won the title of best attack in the competition, averaging 87,7 points per game. Additionally, power forward Olivinha was named the championship's rebounding leader, finishing the NBB with an average of 9,6 rebounds per game. 

At the party, Flamengo was represented by Marcelo Vido, executive director of Olympic Sports, and by José Neto, coach of FlaBasquete. 

The Flamengo Regatas Club basketball teams receive funding from their sponsors – Estácio, AmBev, Rede D'or, IRB Brasil RE, CSN, Brasil Plural, and EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), as well as support from the Brazilian Club Committee (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources generated by the Pelé Law. The Flamengo Guardian Angel Project, a personal tax transfer, benefits all Olympic sports of the Most Beloved Club.
