Forty minutes before kickoff in the Copa do Brasil semifinal between Flamengo and Atlético-MG, ten representatives of the world champion basketball team will take a lap of honor around the Maracanã pitch, carrying the Intercontinental Cup trophy. Fans in the stadium will be able to greet the stars, who are also the current state champions - having won their tenth title on Tuesday (October 28.10th) -, Brazilian (NBB) and continental (Liga das Américas) champions.

After the tribute, everyone watches the match in the Lower East Section, alongside 80 guests from the United States Olympic Committee (USOC). Committee members will come to Gávea this afternoon to see what has been done structurally at the club, in addition to the results of the Flamengo Olympic athletes. In 2013, Flamengo and the USOC officially partnered until the conclusion of the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. The Committee will provide the necessary resources for infrastructure improvements at the headquarters in exchange for using the club as a training center for the Americans for Rio 2016.
