FlaBasquete defends its lead in the game against São José
The red-black team needs a victory to secure first place in the NBB table

At 20pm this Wednesday (23) the ball goes up to Flamengo and São José, for the 28th round of the Novo Basquete Brasil, at the Lineu de Moura gym, home of the opponent. For Rubro-Negro, isolated leader of the competition, only victory is of interest to both sides: while the Rio team wants to secure first place and win again, the team from the interior of São Paulo (13th) still dreams of qualifying for the playoffs.
"I expect a tough game. São José needs to win. We're also in a difficult moment; we need to win and secure first place. It should be a tough game for both sides. We want to recover and maintain our lead at all costs. Their team isn't going through a good moment, but they have talent. Playing there is always very difficult," said Marquinhos.
Coach José Neto agrees with the winger about this Wednesday's clash (23).
"It's the most important game of the season. That's how we're preparing, and that's how we're approaching this match against São José. Getting back to winning in the NBB is the entire team's focus so we can maintain our lead in the competition. We're facing a team that also needs to win to improve its position in the standings. As the home team, they're always a tough opponent, and that's our expectation. That's why we're focused on imposing the pace of the game and thus have a greater chance of winning again in the NBB," he concluded.
