FlaBasquete dominates the entire game and defeats Toros de Chiriquí 99-72 in the BCLA
Jordan Williams scored 16 points and was the standout performer in the game, played at the Tijuca gymnasium. Lucas Siewert achieved a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
By Romulo Paranhos - inFlaBasquete took to the court on Tuesday night (17), at the Tijuca Tênis Clube gymnasium, and beat Toros de Chiriquí 99-72, in the second round of Group B of the Basketball Champions League Americas. Jordan Williams was the highlight of the match with 16 points. With another victory in the competition, the Pride of the Nation remains at the top of its group.

1st Bedroom
The match started evenly, with both teams exchanging points. Taya Gallizzi scored the first two points for the red-and-black team. Then, Jhonatan Luz hit the first three-pointer of the game. On an individual play, Shaq Johnson penetrated the paint and scored two more points on a layup. In the final minutes, the Pride of the Nation managed to get its game underway and opened up a ten-point lead: 23-13.
2st Bedroom
The Toros came back more focused in the second quarter and scored five points in the opening minute. Alexey's excellent play saw the point guard enter the paint, hit two more layups, and then draw a foul. He converted the bonus free throw. With just over five minutes remaining, the Panamanian team cut the deficit to three points. Alexey again made a beautiful play, moving the ball from defense to offense and scoring on a layup. In the final minutes, Mengão regained their advantage and went into halftime leading 41-30.
3st Bedroom
After halftime, Lucas Siewert converted a three-pointer from the dead zone. The Pride of the Nation maintained its momentum and further extended its lead. Jordan Williams swayed past the defense and hit a shot from the three-point line. The red-and-black team continued to control the game and score. With seconds remaining in the quarter, Jordan Williams hit another three-pointer, closing the quarter at 75-47.
4st Bedroom
In the final quarter, the Pride of the Nation continued to hold the game in its hands. The Toros tried to close the gap, but the red-and-black team kept scoring when it came to attacking. On a beautiful play by Jordan Williams, Taya Gallizzi took advantage of her height in the paint to score two more points. After a beautiful assist from Williams, Shaq Johnson hit a three-pointer from the dead zone. Lucas Siewert followed suit and also hit a three. And so, Mengão marched until the final seconds of the quarter to close out the game with a comfortable 99-72 victory.
Next challenge
The Pride of the Nation will face Bauru next Friday (20), at 20 pm, at Maracanãzinho, in another round of the NBB.
