FlaBasquete is impressive from start to finish and beats Caxias do Sul 84-55, in the NBB

American Jordan Williams was the standout performer with 17 points. Pride of the Nation faces São Paulo in the next round, away from home.

Opening another round of the NBB, FlaBasquete had no difficulty in beating Caxias do Sul 84-55, on Monday night (4), at the Tijuca Tênis Clube gym. The highlight of the match was American Jordan Williams with 17 points. Now, Orgulho da Nação faces São Paulo, away from home, in the next round of the national competition.

1st Bedroom
FlaBasquete started the match with a three-pointer from Alexey. Ruan then worked the play well in the paint and scored two more points. The red-and-black defense excelled early in the game, giving Caxias little room to shoot. Gui Deodato provided a beautiful assist for Ruan to score two more, a layup. Following this, the number 1 hit his first three-pointer of the match. The Pride of the Nation closed the period with an eight-point lead: 22-14.

2st Bedroom
Early in the second quarter, Gui Deodato received an open ball and converted another three-pointer, his second of the match. Caxias was making numerous offensive errors, and Flamengo capitalized on this by quickly transitioning from defense to attack. Lucas Siewert calibrated his hand and also hit from the three-point line. Jordan Williams had an excellent game, hitting his shots well. Dominant in the first two periods, FlaBasquete went into halftime with a wide lead: 49-30.  

3st Bedroom
In the third quarter, Alexey made a good drive and passed to Jhonatan Luz, who shot from the dead zone for another three points. The red-and-black team continued to perform well offensively and maintained a healthy lead. Alexey received the ball open in the dead zone and didn't disappoint, scoring another three points for Mengão. With two point guards on the court, Alexey found Balbi open to sink another three-pointer. The Pride of the Nation remained dominant and extended their lead even further: 70-45.

4st Bedroom
In the final quarter, FlaBasquete continued to impose its rhythm on offense and consistent defense. American Jordan Williams and Kayo Gonçalves each scored three more points for Mengão. Alexey fed Kayo in the dead zone, scoring another three-pointer. With the game already settled, coach Gustavo De Conti sent the youngsters onto the court in the final minutes to give the squad some practice. The game ended with a resounding 84-55 victory for Orgulho da Nação.

Next challenge
The Pride of the Nation returns to the court next Thursday (7) to face São Paulo, at 20:30 pm, at the Morumbi gym, for the tenth round of the NBB.
