FlaBasquete is defeated by Caxias by 85 to 82

Now, the Pride of the Nation prepares for the BCLA quarterfinals

FlaBasquete faced Caxias do Sul on Wednesday night (5) and ended up being defeated by 85 to 82. The Pride of the Nation returns to the courts on Sunday (9) to face Paisas in the Basketball Champions League Americas (BCLA).

The game started off competitively, with both teams starting the match scoring points and the score remained level until the 7th minute. The opposing team managed to break the tie, but FlaBasquete came back to turn the game around and gain an advantage, which reached 11-17. With a great performance from Ruan and Balbi's last point, Orgulho da Nação finished the quarter ahead with 20 points against Caxias' 15.

2st Bedroom

Despite FlaBasquete's lead, the opposing team started the quarter attacking heavily, but FlaBasquete scored every time the opposing team got close. Halfway through the half, Caxias came back, but soon came back again with Jhonatan Luz. The rest of the quarter was evenly matched. Lucas Siewert scored a three-pointer in the final minute of the quarter, the opposing team closed in, but Alexey scored two points to give FlaBasquete a 37-40 lead at halftime.

With 100% efficiency, Ruan scores FlaBasquete's first point after halftime. Jordan Williams followed shortly after with a dunk to put the gap back on the scoreboard. Flamengo's excellent start to the quarter allowed them to gain a further advantage, which by the halfway point had reached a seven-point lead. In the end, the opposing team closed the gap, finishing 58-59.

4st Bedroom

With the game virtually tied, the final quarter began more slowly, with the first point coming only two minutes into the half. Caxias turned the game around, but it wasn't long before Gui Deodato appeared with a dunk and closed the gap. Alexey scored to tie the score at 64-64, but the opposing team responded with a three-pointer. The Pride of the Nation tried to turn the game around again, but ended up being outscored by Caxias 85-82.
