With nine consecutive victories in the national basketball tournament, the Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB), FlaBasquete embarks on this Tuesday (26.01) for another challenge: the search for the title of the League of the Americas. Champion of the tournament in 2014, the Rubro-Negro goes to Panama, Group C headquarters in the first phase, which takes place between the 29th and 31th of January.

Last Monday (25.01), José Neto's team had their last training session in Rio de Janeiro, at the Gávea social headquarters, before the trip, which will take place early this afternoon. The red-black coach, who led the team in its first title, trusts in the experience of his athletes to fight for the second championship.

"We have players who are accustomed to this level of competition, even higher. This makes my job much easier to "turn the tide" (NBB to LDA). The players know the importance of this first phase, the first game, which can put us closer or further away from a spot in the second phase. I have the privilege of having a very experienced group," praised the manager.

The Pride of the Nation's debut will be against Argentina's GE Comodoro, at 21:15 pm (Brasília time), next Friday (29.01). Correcaminos Colón (PAN) and Aguilas de Tunja (COL) are also part of the group. In addition to Mais Querido, three other Brazilian teams are among the sixteen teams participating in the competition: Mogi, Bauru and Brasília.
