FlaBasquete faces Minas in the debut of the Avianca Cup

FlaBasquete kicks off another competition this season. Next Wednesday (25), Orgulho da Nação will take to the court to face Minas Tênis Clube, at 20:30 pm, in a game valid for the Avianca Cup, which will serve as another test for the main objective of the season: the second phase of the South American League. The match will be the first commitment after achieving a 100% success in Quibdó, in the opening phase of the continental competition.
Coach José Neto highlighted the importance of the Avianca Cup as a form of training for the continuation of the South American League, a competition that will be held next month.
"We intend to play this Copa Avianca as a preparatory tournament with the teams that will play in the National League. We will be competing in a competition soon, the South American League, where we need to be prepared, and this combination of games will be important for that, giving the team the best conditions to perform well in the international championship," the coach emphasized.
Following an intense training routine after returning to Brazil, FlaBasquete has been preparing at the Hélio Maurício gymnasium, and took advantage of the competition break to improve the team's chemistry. Point guard Humberto highlighted the influence of regaining game rhythm with participation in the Avianca Cup.
"Right after the South American League, we had another training period, and now we'll get back into the game, get back into the rhythm of competition for the semifinals of the South American League, which makes this tournament very important. It's a friendly competition, of course, but with qualified teams and at the same level as we'll encounter in the rest of the season, so I believe it will serve as excellent preparation for our team," said the number 19.

Athlete João Vitor suffered a grade 2 sprain to his left ankle and will undergo physiotherapy treatment for about two weeks, being replaced in the competition by young André Miguel, an athlete on the under-19 team.
