FlaBasquete faces Boca Juniors and Universidad de Concépcion in the Champions League group stage
The competition will take place in a bubble format, like last season, with the Final 8 in April.
By Helena Petry - inThe group stage of the new season of the Champions League of the Americas will bring a great classic from the grass to the courts! In the draw held by FIBA this Saturday (16), Flamengo and Boca Juniors (ARG) were drawn in group D. This means that the clubs will face each other at least three times in the competition. In addition to the Brazilian and Argentine teams, Universidad de Concépcion, from Chile, is also in the group.
As in last season, the championship will be played in a bubble format, with each team hosting a stage of the qualifying phase. The first set of matches will take place between December 10th and 15th, with additional windows scheduled for January 28th to February 2nd and March 11th to 16th. The top two teams from each of the four groups will qualify for the Final 8, which will take place between April 6th and 9th.
The current Champions League champion, Rubro-Negro, also has the Intercontinental Cup, the club world championship, ahead of it. The competition will be held in February 2022, with no location yet determined. FlaBasquete, which won the title in 2014, is seeking its second title.
