FlaBasquete faces Franca in the Super 8 this Saturday
In search of a second championship, Orgulho da Nação debuts in 2021
By Helena Petry - inFlaBasquete is ready to debut in 2021! This Saturday (16), Rubro-Negro begins the Super 8 Cup, against Franca, at 16 pm, in São Paulo. The match will be held at the Paulistano gym, the competition's headquarters, and will be broadcast by TV Cultura and Dazn.
Flamengo and Franca played in the finals of both editions of the championship, in 2018 and 2019, each winning one title. "Flamengo" won the first season. One of the opponent's standout performers in 2019, Rafael Hettsheimeir, now wears the red-and-black jersey. The center spoke about his preparations for the clash between the two teams, which will now face each other in the first round.
"We had a good week of training with the Super 8 in mind, very tough and intense, and we've already started 2021 focused on the competition. We played Franca in the NBB and won, but this is a different game. They have a great team, and we're ready," said the number 30.
With 13 wins in 15 matches, FlaBasquete finished the first phase of the NBB in second place. In addition to the Super 8 and the national competition, the Pride of the Nation still has the Champions League Americas to look forward to this season. The debut will be at Maracanãzinho in February.
