Debut set! FlaBasquete begins its NBB 14 campaign on October 23rd against São Paulo at Morumbi Stadium, with the time yet to be determined. Seven-time champions, the Rubro-Negro are seeking their eighth title after a perfect season, with more titles than losses. In 20/21, they won four trophies: Carioca, Super 8, and Champions League, in addition to the NBB. Flamengo and São Paulo were the finalists of the tournament, defeated 3-0 in a best-of-five series by the Mais Querido.

Returning to its original home-and-away format, the competition begins with Orgulho da Nação as the visiting team for the first three rounds. The home opener will be against Pato Basquete on November 3rd at 20 pm at Maracanãzinho.

For the 21/22 season, Mengão has strengthened its ranks with some of the sport's biggest names. Americans Brandon Robinson and Dar Tucker arrive at Gávea, as does center Vitor Faverani, who returns to play after a successful stint in Spain and NBA experience. JP Batista returned to the club, and Argentine point guard Fabián Sahdi signed a three-month contract to play for the team while fellow Argentine Franco Balbi completes his recovery from right knee surgery in April.
