Path to decision

Orgulho da Nação's path to the final began in the quarterfinals against Bauru. Despite the São Paulo team entering the match with four consecutive NBB wins, Orgulho da Nação played a strong game and advanced to the semifinals without any major setbacks: 86-67. Gabriel Jaú was the standout performer with 31 points—enough to become the young power forward's career best and tie the competition's all-time record.

Next, it was Paulistano's turn to travel to Rio de Janeiro to face FlaBasquete in search of a spot in the final. If the matchup already promised to be a great game, it exceeded all expectations. The teams played a classic that will remain etched in the fans' memories, who, after a series of last-minute lead changes, saw Didi score the decisive shot and seal the final score: 83-82 for the Mais Querido. Gui Deodato scored an incredible 34 points, surpassing his teammate who had tied the tournament record in the previous match, and made Super 8 history as the highest scorer in a single game.

Unifacisa finished sixth overall, eliminating two of the favorites for the title away from home, Franca and Minas. The Campina Grande team counts Rafael Rachel, a Gávea native, as one of its standout players.

FlaBasquete's history in the tournament

The Super 8 is a short-term knockout competition involving the top eight teams from the first round of the NBB. It's a kind of Brazilian Basketball Cup. Teams face each other in a bracket where the first team faces the eighth-place team, the second team faces the seventh-place team, and so on.
