Thursday night (16) was a great collective performance by FlaBasquete. Five athletes reached double digits in scoring, Olivinha achieved another double-double and José Neto's team achieved their third consecutive victory in the NBB CAIXA, over Campo Mourão, by 79 to 69, at Tijuca Tênis Clube. With the result, the team remains tied with Brasília at the top.
Flamengo imposed its rhythm from the opening moments of the match, and despite Campo Mourão's attempts to rally, Flamengo was never threatened by the tournament's best visiting team. Flamengo began the fourth quarter with a ten-point lead, and with a series of well-timed shots from Ronald Ramon and Marcelinho Machado, they opened up a 17-point lead within the first three minutes of the period.
For the fourth consecutive time, Olivinha recorded a double-double – his 13th of the season and 106th in NBB CAIXA history. The power forward needed just 18 minutes to score 15 points and grab 12 rebounds. Centers JP Batista and Hakeem Rollins also broke the deadlock, scoring 12 points each. Marcelinho and Marquinhos also reached the same scoring figures: 14 points each.
Now Flamengo will go to Sorocaba to face LIga Sorocabana, next Tuesday (21), at 20 pm.
