The date is set! FlaBasquete makes its NBB 13 debut on November 10th. Against Minas, the Pride of the Nation begins its quest for another title in the competition. The championship will be played in seven different venues: Antonio Prado Jr. Gymnasium (CA Paulistano), Morumbi Gymnasium (São Paulo FC), Prof. Hugo Ramos Gymnasium (Mogi das Cruzes), Wlamir Marques Gymnasium (Corinthians), Henrique Villaboim Gymnasium (EC Pinheiros), IESPLAN Gymnasium (Brasília-DF) and Maracanãzinho, the venue for Mengão's first batch of matches.

In addition to Flamengo and Minas, Pato Basquete, Campo Mourão, Basquete Cearense, and Unifacisa will play in Rio de Janeiro. The latter two will face the Mais Querido on the 12th and 14th, respectively, with times yet to be determined.

The NBB's most successful team, FlaBasquete, has six titles in the competition and is the current holder of the trophy. The club was still leading the 2019/20 season with 21 wins in 24 matches, totaling 45 points. The Rubro-Negro's last match in the championship, ended early due to COVID-19, was against São José at the Linneu de Moura gymnasium on March 5th. In overtime, the team led by Gustavo De Conti won the duel 102-97.

NBB 12 ended without a champion, and the ranking order was maintained and valid as a criterion for access to international competitions. First, FlaBasquete secured a spot in this season's Champions League. Before that, Mengão will play in the final of the latest edition of the Copa Libertadores on October 31st at Antel Arena in Uruguay. Their opponent will come from the match between Quimsa and San Lorenzo on the 25th.
