FlaBasquete debuts in the Champions League against Boca Juniors, at Maracanãzinho

FIBA announces dates for the competition's group stage and Mais Querido hosts the first bubble in December

From the pitch to the court: Flamengo and Boca Juniors will open the new edition of the Champions League at Maracanãzinho! This Thursday (28), FIBA ​​Americas announced the competition dates and Rubro-Negro will host the first bubble of Group D. The opening match, against the Argentine team, takes place on December 10th. On the 11th, Boca and Universidad de Concépcion (CHI) face each other in Rio de Janeiro and, on December 12th, it will be FlaBasquete's turn to face the Chilean team.


The Mais Querido also announced the dates for phases 2 and 3 of the group stage. In Buenos Aires, Flamengo vs. UdeC will take place on February 1st. Boca Juniors vs. Flamengo will take place the following day.  The third and final bubble, in Chile, is scheduled for the period between March 11 and 13, with the Pride of the Nation facing the home team in the opening match and the Argentine team next, on the 12th.


The reigning champion, Rubro-Negro, is seeking its second Champions League title and its third continental title. In 2014, FlaBasquete won the Liga das Américas title, the competition's previous format. Later this season, the team will also be seeking its second Intercontinental Cup in February.
