With a lot of commitment from the team in all periods, Flamengo overcame Brasília this Saturday (07), at Maracanãzinho, in a match valid for the ninth round of the NBB: 90 to 84. Gui Deodato was the red-black's top scorer, with 17 points. Alexey scored a double-double of 12 points with 11 assists. The next game will be for the Champions League, against Boca Juniors, next Sunday (15) at Tijuca Tênis Clube.

1st Bedroom

Brasília scored 12 points on four shots early in the game. Ruan and Gui Deodato responded with baskets that prevented the visiting team from pulling away. Lucas Siewert made a beautiful block. Ruan was another Flamengo player who prevented Brasília from advancing with a great block. With 40 seconds left in the first quarter, Shaq, Jordan, and Balbi came on. Shaq made a play for a two-pointer, the defense rebounded, and the American regained possession and scored a beautiful three-pointer, putting Flamengo ahead for the first time in the game. Gallizzi and Jordan Williams entered the game with important double-doubles. For the opposing team, the three-pointers continued to fall, Nesbitt and Lucas hit their shots, leaving the team from the federal capital ahead at the end of the first quarter: 23-26 in favor of the visitors. "Two teams that play forward, so the game is open." - commented Paulo Chupeta, in a FlaTV broadcast. 

2st Bedroom

The first basket of the second quarter was scored by Ruan, with another beautiful assist from Balbi. Flamengo's attacking drive in this period demonstrated their eagerness. Siewert's three-pointer put Flamengo ahead, but Cook responded with a three-pointer to put Brasília one point ahead: 28-29. Gui Deodato's three-pointer, followed by Ruan's two consecutive points, kept Flamengo on its heels, as Lucas and Rodrigues both found success with their shots, extending the lead. Alexey put together two plays to add four more points for Mengão. Brasília's attempts began to falter, and Flamengo established a lead, which had been alternating until then. With the score at 41-38, Flamengo had Gui, Siewert, Luz, Alexey, and Balbi on the court. The two-point formation somewhat reduced the average height on the court, but the pressure marking executed by the point guards was effective in hindering the opponent's shots, which remained below target. Cook managed three free throws but only converted one. In three alternating possessions, the score remained unchanged, and when the second quarter ended, the teams went to the locker room with the score at 1-41 for Flamengo.

3st Bedroom

Kayo scored the first three points of the third quarter. Gallizzi converted four more. Gui Deodato added three more, and Jordan Williams dunked beautifully, prompting a timeout from the opposing coach. With a ten-point lead, Flamengo led 53-43. Nesbitt hit another three-pointer, promptly answered by two more points from Alexey. Gallizzi capitalized on a rebound to score two more, and Jordan Williams added a three-pointer, increasing Flamengo's lead even after the double basket and Cook's free throws. In the remaining two minutes of the third period, Balbi tried to increase Flamengo's lead, but the ball refused to fall. Bonfim dunked and added two more points for Brasília, reducing the deficit to nine points. On the final attack of the half, Jordan Williams again reduced the deficit to eleven.

4st Bedroom

The fourth quarter began with the scoreboard showing 67-56 for the home team. Gui set up Gallizzi, who added two more for Flamengo. Cook closed the gap to ten. Bonfim was fouled in the paint and scored two points on free throws. Shaq made the save, Alexey served, and Gui Deodato answered the opposition's points with another two-pointer. Brasília scored again with Von Haydin, but missed a one-pointer. Bonfim scored another two points, and it was coach Gustavo de Conti's turn to call a timeout. With the score at 71-65, Flamengo's lead remained, but without the previous dominance. Bonfim missed a free throw, and the nation cheered louder at Maracanãzinho. Alexey scored two more points, and Cook missed the next shot. Gui Deodato capitalized on the passing exchange and added three more points for the team from Gávea. Coach Dedé Barbosa stopped the game to look for ways to close the eight-point deficit. Alexey showed off his technique with a two-pointer, and Kayo's subsequent pass to the basket proved their growing chemistry. The visitors had less and less time to reverse the deficit, but Shaq cooled the opposition and extended the lead to 17 points: 82-65. Nesbitt scored on free throws. Cook also scored. Von Haydin hit three points, and Gustavo de Conti stopped the game in a timeout. At that point, the score was 82-74. With a minute remaining, Shaq Johnson scored a beautiful three-pointer, and Brasília responded with two points from Cook. Gallizzi converted another point for Flamengo and extended the lead to ten. Lucas pulled one back with two points, and it was Shaq Johnson's turn to step up to the free throw line, making both. With 32 seconds remaining, Lucas narrowed the lead to seven points. Balbi converted two free throws, giving Brasília 19 seconds to change the score. Lucas hit another three-pointer, and Flamengo maintained possession until the end of the game. Flamengo won 90-81.
