The Cordoba Institute

Sporting Flamengo's colors, Instituto had a strong campaign in the first phase of the competition, with two wins and one loss. In their debut, they defeated Uruguay's Aguada 75-68. In the following game, they defeated Chile's Leones de Qiulpue 76-70, only to be defeated in the final round by Franca, 82-80. A strong campaign that qualified the team for the next phase.

Averaging 18 points per game (54 total), forward Luciano Gonzalez was the team's standout performer in the first phase. Flamengo should also not neglect Facundo Piñero, the power forward who averaged 15 points (48 total) and was the team's most active player, with 91 minutes on the court.

Hi, Balbi

Familiar with Argentine teams, Flamengo point guard Franco Balbi spoke about the opponent and expects a very tough match, where Flamengo will need to impose its rhythm on the court first. "Their team is very good. It's one of the best teams in Argentina. They have very good foreign players. It will be a tight game, with a lot of fighting, and we have to stop them from playing on the court to do our job."
