FlaBasquete kicks off another major challenge this season. This Tuesday (07), the Mais Querido takes to the court at Tijuca Tênis Clube to face Olímpia, from Paraguay, in the debut of the semifinal stage of the South American League. The ball goes up at 20:30 pm and the Pride of the Nation sets out in search of qualification for the final of the competition. This will be the first clash between the two teams and promises excitement from start to finish.
Coach José Neto stressed the importance of treating each game as a final and analyzed the Paraguayan team.
Last week, the Rubro-Negro's training sessions focused on the debut. With a training routine at the Hélio Maurício gymnasium in Gávea and at Tijuca Tênis Clube, the match's venue, FlaBasquete worked on physical and tactical skills to advance in the international tournament. Captain Marcelinho Machado spoke about the expectations for the match, which also marks Orgulho da Nação's home debut of the season.
"Expectations are the best possible. We'll officially debut at home with a quick knockout tournament. We know how important the South American League is to our calendar, as it's our first major objective, and we're going all out for it," said the number 4.

Coach José Neto stressed the importance of treating each game as a final and analyzed the Paraguayan team.
"This is a competition in which we have to play every game as if it were a final to have a chance of fighting for the title, which is our goal. For this semifinal stage, the rhetoric has to be put even more into practice, since only the first-place team remains in the competition. All our opponents here arrived on merit and will play with the same objective as us. Olimpia, our first opponent, has foreign players who, along with experienced national players, arrived with three wins in three first-round matches. I'm sure they're highly motivated," said the coach.
