FlaBasquete launches “Until the End” campaign with statements from the cast to the Nation
Reformed, Mais Querido has NBB, Champions, Super 8 and World Cup ahead of it this season
By Helena Petry - inEach quarter is a round. Each game, a fight. The goal is always greater than any obstacle. With the Nation in the corner, the promise is of grit, endurance, and total commitment. Until the last second. Until the end.
This is the premise of FlaBasquete's 21/22 season: fighting for every ball, every set, every match, every title. Hence the "Until the End" campaign, launched this Thursday (21), two days before the NBB debut. Flamengo is seeking its eighth title in the competition, in addition to its third Super 8 Cup title, its third consecutive continental title (having a League of the Americas title and a Champions League title), and its second world title. In a literal representation, the red-and-black squad became a team of fighters in the released photo shoot and promised, in the words of each member, total dedication.
The team, significantly revamped and still taking shape, relies on its greatest ally: the Nation, which, after a season without being able to attend the gyms and cheer on the Mais Querido, returns to help its Pride face its greatest challenges. The team relies on the strength of Flamengo's fans and all Flamengo fans playing together.
Check out the testimonials from FlaBasquete players and coach Gustavo De Conti:
#2 Yago:
I'm looking forward to meeting the fans and seeing the gym full, cheering for us. So far, representing the Red-Black Nation has been one of the best things I've ever felt. It's something that can't be explained, it's lived. This season, once again, I promise to bring a lot of grit, speed, and a lot of daring on the court.
#3 Matheus Leoni:
Pride. That's the word to describe my feeling. It's an immense honor to wear the jersey of such a successful club, with so much history, like Flamengo. I'm hungry for victory and want to help the team win more and more titles. I also can't wait to see the gym full, feel the warmth of the nation cheering with every play, and passing on to us, from the stands, energy and strength to fight. It's a great honor to play for Flamengo; it's not for just anyone. I will always give my best.
#6 Franco Balbi
It's the greatest team in Brazil and must always be represented that way. This is a huge responsibility. The moments of triumph and titles will always be remembered, but the difficult times should also be remembered. They make us stronger, they make us the team we are today. I hope the nation can support us as it always has; we have high expectations for that. And the fans can expect, in return, that we never give up, with great dedication and a desire to win.
#7 Tulio da Silva:
Everyone knows the history of the red-and-black team, and for me, being chosen to be part of this squad is unbelievable. I'm happy here and eager to start the season and pursue many titles. And the fans are part of the team, bringing a lot of energy during the games, so I can't wait to play at home and see a packed Maracanãzinho. The nation can expect a player with plenty of energy on both sides of the court, doing everything the team needs, an athlete who plays very hard to achieve the club's goals and win every championship.
#11 Caffaro:
There's a different kind of energy here, unlike any other club. I'm happy to be part of this family and to be able to interact with so many high-level athletes. And meeting the Nation in the gym will certainly be a very special moment for me... You can expect a lot of commitment and intensity on defense; I'll be chasing every rebound and contributing my bit on offense.
#12 Rafael Mineiro:
As the nation sings, "there is no greater love." Defending Flamengo means being passionate about this jersey and everything it represents. It means giving a little more each day, giving up so much to put the club where it deserves to be: always at the top. I will continue fighting for this day after day, training after training. Respect for Flamengo, dedication, and maximum commitment will not be lacking.
#13 JP Batista:
With the fans in the gym, I expect a lot of energy and that adrenaline rush that only the Red-Black Nation can provide. Playing for Flamengo is a goal for any Brazilian athlete, a unique opportunity to compete for titles. It's an honor to wear the Mantle once again; defending a club with such a successful history is a privilege for few. I will always leave my heart on the court.
#15 Brandon Robinson:
I feel it's an honor to defend these colors; the club is historic. It was a wonderful feeling to receive Flamengo's offer, a recognition of my hard work. And I'm excited to have the fans back in the gym; sports aren't the same without the fans. The nation can expect a complete player from me. A guy who plays hard and with heart.
#16 Olive:
I promise a warrior on the court, who will do everything to achieve our goals. It's a great honor to wear the Sacred Mantle; it's love and passion. And representing more than 42 million fans is something that moves me. I'm counting the minutes until I have them by our side again; they're our sixth player on the court and make a difference with surreal energy. I sincerely hope for a packed gymnasium of red-and-black fans soon, to ease this longing. I promise the nation plenty of fight, determination, determination, and determination.
#20 Rafael Rachel:
It's an accomplishment! Knowing I'm playing for one of the best teams in the world is incredibly rewarding; it's priceless. I promise to show a lot of grit, resilience, and determination, along with love for the jersey, courage, and joy. I'll honor the Mantle with everything I have to make the nation proud. We miss her, she helps us so much during the games. Let's be honest: Flamengo fans are different! We'll fight with everything we have, game after game, for her.
#22 Emanuel:
I've always dreamed of playing for a club as big and renowned as Flamengo. I'm incredibly happy and proud. I can't wait to see the stadium packed, the fans right there cheering with us every point. I promise to always give my best, with a will to win, personality, and a lot of grit.
#31 Faverani:
The feeling of defending the Mantle is difficult to put into words, a pride so great that only those who wear it know it. I've been told that playing for the Flamengo fans is an otherworldly experience... I want to experience that and be able to respond on the court, winning games and winning the titles the Nation deserves. After so long away, being able to return to play for a team like Flamengo... there are no words. Maximum commitment and total dedication to the team: that's what the Nation can expect from me.
#32 Fabian Sahdi:
We are the reigning champions, and we will make it count. Being part of the most dominant team in recent seasons, in Brazil and Latin America, gives me the strength to train every day and strive to constantly improve. It was with great joy and pride that I received Flamengo's invitation, given everything the club represents historically and its recent success. I'm very excited to share moments with the fans, who give me an extra boost during the game. The nation can expect a lot of dedication and commitment from me.
#88 Give Tucker:
I've wanted to play for Flamengo for a long time, and now my chance has arrived. It's going to be the best season—and a huge challenge for me! I'm really excited to have the Nation at the games; it makes me play even harder, and it's much more fun. You can expect plenty of plays with dedication, creativity, and a lot of joy.
Gustavo De Conti:
Titles are unforgettable and special. And we always want them; the nation deserves more. I can't wait to be propelled once again by the energy of the fans in the gym. It's all for you, for you. The fight is, and always will be, daily. We will continue to give our blood, sweat, and tears, and we count on your love and passion.
