On Thursday night (9), FlaBasquete was defeated by Franca, by 80 to 65, in game 4 of the finals of the New Basketball Brazil (NBB). With the result, Flamengo finishes the competition in second place.
The game
The match began with both teams sticking to their playing styles, with a high volume of perimeter shooting on both sides. Flamengo had more success inside, scoring points under the basket. Throughout the first quarter, the Mais Querido struggled with low three-point shooting, while the São Paulo team made six of ten attempts. The first quarter ended 28-8 for Franca, and the opponent managed to maintain the advantage built during this period until the end of the match.
Offensively, the second quarter started better for Flamengo, but the opposing team continued to use good long balls and superior offensive rebounding. The game went into halftime 49-26 in favor of Franca. The two teams traded baskets in the second half, and "Mais Querido" won the last two quarters, but ended up losing 80-65, ending its participation in the NBB and the season.
