The game

The duel was worthy of a great decision, between two great teams. With baskets falling back and forth, the first quarter was very even, and the opponent only opened up a small lead in the final moments, closing the period at 19-15. In the second period, the teams' alternating pace of lead continued initially, but Franca began to impose its game and held the lead, but without letting go, until halftime.

Flamengo came out of the locker room strong and remained very active in the third quarter. Two Argentine shots from the perimeter, by Vildoza and Cuello, were crucial for Flamengo to stay on Franca's heels. To open the fourth quarter, Vildoza hit another three-pointer, leaving Flamengo just four points behind their opponents (61-57). The match was evenly matched until the final moments, when the home team opened up a nine-point lead with less than two minutes remaining. Flamengo was unable to contain Franca's offensive attacks and ended up losing 76-65.
