Flamengo played a close game against the only undefeated team in the New Basketball Brazil (NBB) 8, but failed to secure a victory on Friday night (November 20.11th) at the Antônio Prado Junior Gymnasium. Playing away from home, FlaBasquete was leading Paulistano until the end of the second quarter. However, despite a close third quarter, the "Mais Querido" saw their opponent take advantage of the crowd and build momentum, which they managed to maintain until the end of the match. Now, the Rubro-Negro will not play again until December 1st, facing Solar Cearense away from home.

The Game
After winning the first quarter (18 to 15), FlaBasquete came back with full force and, after a beautiful sequence, was 14 points ahead (15 to 4), but Paulistano recovered and reduced the disadvantage to three points, tying the number of points in the quarter (15 to 15). 

The third quarter started evenly, but in the final sequence, the opponent took advantage of home advantage and widened the gap in their favor, opening up a seven-point lead in the period and the final score. It was Flamengo's second loss in the competition.

"We knew the difficulties we would face in this matchup against Paulistano, a team that is playing very well. They played an aggressive attack, but we relied on our defensive strength, and the low score showed it. It was a low-scoring game given the good offensive potential of both teams," analyzed Rafael Mineiro.
